Terms of Use

The rules for using Dalal Journal.

Last updated 9 September 2026
Draft for review. Replace every [bracketed placeholder] with your registered details and have this checked by a lawyer before you rely on it. This is not legal advice.

1. Who we are

Dalal Journal ("the Service") is operated by [Legal entity name], registered at [registered address], India. Contact: [your@email.com].

2. What the Service is — and is not

Dalal Journal is a journaling, analysis and execution-assistance tool. It is not a broker, an exchange, a portfolio manager or an investment adviser. We are not registered with SEBI as a research analyst or investment adviser, and nothing in the Service is a recommendation to buy or sell any security.

Backtests, strategy accuracy figures, signals, levels and AI-generated commentary are information, not advice. Every trading decision is yours alone.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18, legally able to enter a contract in India, and hold a valid trading account with a SEBI-registered broker. Accounts are created manually and are personal to you.

4. Your account

  • Keep your password confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
  • Do not share, resell or sublicense access.
  • Tell us promptly at [your@email.com] if you suspect unauthorised use.

5. Broker connections and automated orders

If you connect a broker (such as Dhan or Groww) you authorise the Service to use your API credentials to fetch data and, where you explicitly enable it, to place orders on your behalf.

  • We never take custody of your funds or securities.
  • Automated trading only runs when you turn it on, select a strategy and set limits.
  • You are responsible for every order placed from your account, including those placed by an automated strategy you enabled.
  • You can revoke access at any time by disabling the algo, using the kill switch, or invalidating the token with your broker.

6. Availability

The Service depends on third parties — brokers, exchanges and data providers. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and outages, delays, stale prices or rate limits may occur. Do not rely on the Service as your only means of managing an open position.

7. Acceptable use

  • No scraping, reverse engineering, or attempts to breach or overload the Service.
  • No unlawful use, market manipulation, or use on behalf of someone else without our written consent.
  • No redistribution of data or content obtained through the Service.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its strategy library, content and code remain the property of [Legal entity name]. Your trade data remains yours — see the Privacy Policy.

9. Fees

Paid plans are billed as described at the time of purchase. Refunds are governed by the Refund Policy. Taxes are charged as applicable.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [Legal entity name] is not liable for any trading losses, lost profits, or indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability is limited to the fees you paid in the [three] months preceding the claim.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, with notice where practicable.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, with exclusive jurisdiction in the courts of [city].

13. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in the app or by email, and the "last updated" date above will change.
